I Hjemsted Oldtidspark står den store Hatra Ballista der er bygget af Cohors II's tømrer Henrik Kristiansen. Denne udgave af dette utrolige våben, der stod på bymurene i den Nordirakiske oldtidsby Hatra, er den eneste rekonstruktion i fuld størrelse i verden. Vi tog et par skud med den en aften. Rækkevidden er 400m og forsøg har vist, at den kan gennemtrænge 6 mand med panser - på én gang. En såkaldt "Romerkebab".

Hjemsted is home for the great Hatra Ballista build by our group carpenter Henrik Kristiansen. This reconstruction of this ancient defence weapon from the North Irakian town Hatra, is the only one of this size in the world. The range is 400 meters, and trials have shown, that the bolt can penetrate 6 men in armour. A so called "Roman Kebab".
